This study of community theatre is based on the author's experiences working with community theatre groups in six different countries and places (Philippines, Netherlands, Los Angeles, Costa Rica, Kenya and Australia). He gives: a sociological impression of each country; a brief history of the community theatre there; a guide to each country's arts scene; a background to the featured artists and a case study of a specific community theatre project. This book is accompanied by a video.
